The last statement on my educational values list is, "developing strong relationships with my co-workers built on positivity, care for our students' wellbeing, and a passion for learning." I did not specifically address this topic in the fall-down menu of the educational philosophy tab because it is such a broad topic. Therefore, I created a separate tab for professional development. I consider professional development to include maintaining on-going relationships with other educational professionals (collective) as well as engaging in self-reflective processes concerning my professional teaching identity (individual). Therefore, I have included in-depth discussions about my experience in my Education 455 Professional Development and Life-long Learning course with my community of practice, the importance of assessing our own teaching practices using the Teacher's Effectiveness Rubric, and the significance of mentors in my learning journey.
